As 2024 – the "pivotal year" of breakthrough progress at Dong A University – draws to a close, the university community remains dedicated and diligent in their teaching, learning, research, and general activities to welcome 2025, ready to "cross new thresholds" with numerous fresh developments in their mission of human resource training, social service, and international integration.

Scales and Quality Standards
In 2024, Dong A University achieved accreditation of education quality for 8 additional training programs and completed quality assessment surveys for 11 more programs, bringing the total number of accredited programs to over 51% (exceeding the minimum requirement of 35% by 2025 according to Ministry of Education and Training standards). The university also successfully completed institutional quality accreditation for two consecutive cycles (2012-2017 and 2018-2023) with meticulous attention to long-term development strategy.
Within the long-term objectives toward 2030 with a vision to 2045, 2024 was chosen as the "pivotal year" to launch projects enhancing international learning and practice environments for students, including the construction of Building B at the 33 Xo Viet Nghe Tinh campus and the development of an international clinic following Japanese standards.
With beautiful campus, modern facilities, and comprehensive investment, Dong A University has become a reputable venue for national and regional examinations, alongside hosting over 500 engaging students’ events and activities. Since 2024, Dong A University serves as the official host for monthly HSK examinations in Da Nang and ranks among the top TOPIK testing centers nationwide. The university also co-organized and hosted the 7th National Japanese Speech Contest JLAN-Test Cup finals, the 3rd Korean Language Speaking Contest finals organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Danang, and for the seventh time hosted the National Qualifying Round of the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship (MOSWC) for the Central and Central Highlands regions.
To enhance learning facilities and professional practice environments for students, Dong A University invested in comprehensive infrastructure at both Da Nang campuses and the Dak Lak branch. In Da Nang, new standard learning facilities were constructed at the 149 Do Thuc Tinh campus, along with investment in a pre-clinical simulation center and standard practice room systems for the Health Sciences department, supporting two strategically important new programs serving the community: Medicine and Rehabilitation Engineering. At the Dak Lak branch, a standardized automotive workshop was built with designated sections. Also, phase-two investments were completed with additional elevators and air conditioning systems for classrooms.
Expanding Cooperation and Employment
2024 recorded the largest number of students participating in overseas professional internships and employment across multiple countries. In 2024 alone, 276 students participated in study programs, internships, and employment in Japan, South Korea, Singapore, China, Taiwan, Germany, and the United States.
By the end of 2024, over 800 students from 20 training programs across four academic departments – Economics, Engineering, Health, and Languages – at Dong A University had gained professional experience abroad through internship programs and formal employment. The extent of foreign partnerships has grown to over 150 enterprises.
2024 marked an impressive start in strategic and key human resource development cooperation in the semiconductor industry through high-tech human resource training agreements with Ming Chi University of Technology (Taiwan), and human resource development cooperation in semiconductor, robotics, and information and communication technology (ICT) industries with Gyeongbuk Gyeongsan Institute of industry-university Convergence (GGIC), Jeju National University, and Daegu Catholic University(South Korea).
In 2024, Dong A University focused on expanding domestic enterprise cooperation to over 500 potential partners, deepening comprehensive partnerships with FDI corporations and enterprises ranked in the global top 500. Collaborations with Foxlink Da Nang (Foxlink Group, Taiwan), Luxshare-ICT, Nghe An (Luxshare, China), LG Hai Phong, AEON, Lotte Duty Free, and leading global hotel groups including Marriott, IHG, and Accor have provided students with specialized enterprise-tailored training courses, numerous professional internship opportunities, and formal employment positions upon graduation.
2024 also recorded the most diverse career fairs across various fields with the highest number of job positions. Numerous recruitment events including the 16th Annual Career Fair, the 9th Annual Japan Career Fair, sector-specific and province-specific career fairs based on actual enterprise needs created a vibrant and effective cooperation and employment landscape for thousands of students to connect, apply, and become official human resources at domestic and international enterprises.
The 2024 graduating class achieved a high pre-graduation employment rate, with over 50% of students securing employment before graduation. The Languages department at Dong A University reached the highest pre-graduation employment rate in 2024 at over 70%.
Vibrant awards and Achievements
2024 witnessed exceptional efforts and outstanding achievements by Dong A University students in 24 domestic and international competitions, earning 52 high-ranking awards.
Korean Language students from Dong A University won first place in the 28th Global Korean Speech Contest (K-Speech) held in Laos, following their outstanding performance in the 12th K-Speech Korean Speech Contest in Ho Chi Minh City.
Students from the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture at Dong A University excellently won Champion and Runner-up positions in the 7th National Japanese Speech Contest JLAN-Test Cup held in Da Nang.
Additional achievements included gold and bronze medals in the 2024 Gyeongsangbuk-do Korean Speech Contest, 7 second and third prizes in the Korean Speaking Contest in the Central Region organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea, and third prize in the National Student Mathematics Olympiad by students from the Faculty of Information Technology.
In arts and sports, Dong A University students contributed to the academic year's achievements with an Outstanding Program award at the 10th National Mass Arts Festival of Armed Forces, Youth and Students - Region II, first place at the 2024 Da Nang Mass Arts Festival for Armed Forces, Youth, Students, and double runner-up positions for both men's and women's teams in the Da Nang Youth Volleyball Tournament.
Student scientific research and entrepreneurship in 2024 marked a breakthrough year with the 10th Scientific Research Competition and 3rd UDA Startup Innovation.
Research projects, applications, and high-tech products, nominated from university-level competitions, won 3 national science and technology awards and 1 city-level student scientific research award. Faculty research activities also flourished, contributing 55 international papers in WoS/Scopus, 34 papers in domestic journals, 2 published books and 5 book chapters, along with 29 professional reports at domestic and international conferences.
Accelerating International Integration
2024 recorded the highest number of faculty-student exchange programs and international exchange participants.
Twenty exchange programs involving over 787 international students and provincial government officials from Japan, South Korea, France, Thailand, India, China, Philippines, and other countries took place at Dong A University.
Twelve faculty exchange programs brought 281 experts, researchers, doctors, and lecturers from universities and research institutes in Thailand.
Eleven new international academic cooperation agreements were signed with universities and institutes in Japan, South Korea, and China in 2024, bringing Dong A University's total academic partnerships to 44 units by the end of 2024.
The university hosted and co-organized 5 large-scale international conferences with significant contributions and recommendations for socio-economic development and internationalization of higher education and global human resource training: the international scientific conference "Vietnam's Challenges: Towards a High-Income Country by 2045" co-organized with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA); the international conference series "EAI Smart Life Summit 2024: The AI Era" co-organized with the European Alliance for Innovation (EAI) and Gemtex-Ensait, University of Lille, France; the 51st ARTDO International Conference themed "Transforming Lives by Unleashing the Power of Talent and Skill" co-organized with ITD Vietnam (Institute of Training & Development) and MITD SDN. BHD. (Malaysia); the 2nd international scientific conference "New Models for Global Climate Change Strategy" in cooperation with Japan's Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology (AIIT); and the international seminar "Korean Language Education in Central Vietnam in the Age of Hyper-Connectivity" coordinated with the Korea Foundation (KF) Hanoi Office and Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
Alongside hundreds of enterprise-student dialogue sessions throughout the academic year, dozens of engaging workshops with leading experts from the United States, France, United Kingdom, Belgium, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and other countries helped students across various disciplines explore career potential, apply technology to academic specializations, and discover multiple future development directions.
Community Service Contributions
The community responsibility value chain of Dong A University was "doubled with love" through mental health care programs for high school students, with Dong A University reaching provinces in Central and the Central Highlands of Vietnam in 2024. Experts from Dong A University also provided high school students nationwide with a high-quality, carefully invested, and practical career guidance program through the CIC Test experience – a modern career guidance test based on career criteria matrices and artificial intelligence (AI), incorporating 20 core competencies, 40 career interests, and 20 professional personality traits to identify the most suitable career "profile" for each student.
Sharing with the Northern region, faculty and students dedicated their opening ceremony to support the region in recovering from Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi) aftermath, contributing 500 million VND through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City. The university also immediately decided to grant full scholarships covering 100% tuition for entire programs to children from Nu Village, providing future opportunities and employment arrangements in Japan after graduation, ensuring that they could continue pursuing their university dreams and professional development despite tragedy. Years later, those children would return to contribute to their village growth and development.
Dong A University also established the "Nguyen Minh Chau Scholarship" worth up to 100% tuition for complete programs – part of the total scholarship fund valued at nearly 35 billion VND in the 2024 Cherry Blossom Scholarship Fund – for exceptional new students who consistently strive in their studies, demonstrate determination and resolve in pursuing their dreams and aspirations at Dong A University. The scholarship commemorates and continues the unfinished dreams of outstanding student Nguyen Minh Chau – posthumously awarded an Honorary IT Engineering degree from Dong A University – a "tin soldier" with extraordinary determination and noble heart who chose to donate his body to medicine when he knew his health was failing.
As an institution recognized by the city for five consecutive years for community contributions in voluntary blood donation activities, Dong A University's 2024 also recorded the highest number of blood units collected for medical treatment needs through the most blood donation events, with 4 blood donation drives collecting 1,532 blood units.
2024 also marked the 10th consecutive year that Dong A University quietly honored, commemorated, and respected the great sacrifice of 64 Gac Ma soldiers.
Through continuous improvement and effective innovation across comprehensive higher education activities, Dong A University contributed another reliable and sustainable educational institution when honored as the only university to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee for collectives with outstanding achievements in 10 years of implementing Directive No. 38-CT/TU dated September 5, 2014, by the Provincial Party Standing Committee on continuing innovation in emulation and reward work for the period 2014-2024 (Decision No. 1735/QD-UBND dated August 13, 2024). Previously, Dong A University received a Certificate of Merit from Da Nang People's Committee as an outstanding unit in implementing Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW dated November 4, 2013, by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on "Fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education, serving industrialization and modernization in a socialist-oriented market economy during international integration" for the 10-year period (2013-2023).
Becoming a prestigious university in Vietnam and the Asian region, distinguished by scientific and educational values while making outstanding contributions to community development is Dong A University's 2030 vision with 2050 orientation.
